Research project infrastructure
Umbrella infrastructures that provide a focus for computing-related research projects conducted by members of other departments but that do not engage in their own research.
- Humanities Research Institute, Sheffield (U.K.) [X], a consortium of technology-related research projects from within the Faculty of Arts, with an independent steering group dedicated to driving, maintaining and overseeing the development of the Institute.
- Research in Computing for the Humanities, Kentucky [X], a "collaboratory" of computer scientists and humanities scholars investigating humanities research problems that provide intriguing challenges for computer science, and developing new applications of computer technology to research in the humanities; sponsors a lecture series in conjunction with the UK Center for Computational Sciences.
- The TAPoR Lexical Analysis Laboratory, Toronto (Canada), a group of research projects in the historical lexicography of Old and Early Modern English and medieval French, located in the Robarts Library, and directed by Antonette diPaolo Healey, (Dictionary of Old English), Ian Lancashire (Lexicons of Early Modern English), and Brian Merrilees (Aalma).
- The Irish Virtual Research Library and Archive, (Ireland), [X], a digitisation and digital repository research project drawing together digital surrogates from a number of humanities primary and secondary source repositories within and beyond University College Dublin, and developing added value tools and services in co-operation with the University's Schools of Computer Science & Informatics, and Information & Library Studies.
- Electronic Text Research at the University of Saskatchewan / ETRUS, Saskatoon (Canada), [X], a forum for text-oriented humanities computing researchers, mostly at the University of Saskatchewan.
